I don't do New Year's resolutions. I've never understood them, actually. Every day is the beginning of a new year, and my resolution (aka resolve) waxes and wanes as needed on multiple fronts. Ok, maybe not as "needed", but consistent with doing what I need to cope each day.
Do I have goals? Sure! I just don't get making them on the New Year rather than when I need to.
I refuse to define my life and thus my goals solely by the repurcussions of my illness. On the worst of days, I do let them temporarily overwhelm me. On the best of days I totally forget there are any. Eh...the scale probably isn't balanced. It's more of that rollercoaster ride I've talked about before. But in the long run I keep on keepin' on, and that's what it is all about.
If I could offer you anything this New Year, it would be these things:
1) Enough spoons
2) Hope
3) Health
4) Healing
5) Help when you need it
6) Love
7) Laughter
8) Friends
9) Goofiness
10) Adventure
Blessings to all and Happy New Year!!

ReplyDeleteHow modest! LOL It IS a very helpful article, Robin - thanks!
ReplyDeleteLOL, MaryO...I take it you are talking about the first comment? I just shrugged when I read it and wondered from whence it came. I left it after debating deleting it. I suspect they post that at a lot of places.
ReplyDeleteRobin - you're so upbeat and have a great attitude. I admire your commitment to pushing the envelop on patient care within the health system.
ReplyDeleteCheers to a New Year!
