I cherish my day's in the military. Cushing's robbed me of yet another love. It's hard not to get bitter.
I think everyone should serve in some capacity in their lives. No, I don't mean the military, although that is a good choice. I think we should serve our fellow man. Whether that is walking the streets as a cop, feeding the homeless, helping in flood relief or some other type of service, I think we should do it.
It is important to remember it isn't about me. Our true strength lies in cooperation. In banding together and working for the common good or common goals.
Our veterans are living proof of what dedication can accomplish. They have preserved our right to freedom of speech, to protest, to effect change through voting. They do it by standing on the thin red line in peace, and through sacrifice of life and limb in war. There job is not easy and today we say thank you.
